WELCOME
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to a new school year. I am very excited to have your children in my classroom this year. I hope everyone is looking forward to this year as much as I am. I believe that with all of us working together it will be a very successful time for your child.
Flag View 5th Graders will spend time in two core classrooms. I am responsible for Writing/English (Homeroom only), Spelling, Reading and Social Studies. My teaching partner is Mrs. Oltmanns. She will be responsible for your child’s math and science. If she is your homeroom teacher, she will also be responsible for writing / English.
It is very important that you be an active part of your child’s education. You are welcome to phone me or visit the school any time that you have a question concerning your child’s progress.
It is important that you and your child be informed of my standards of classroom behavior, homework policy, and responsibilities. I have always found parents to be very supportive of good classroom behavior so every child has a good learning environment. The first two weeks of school we will be focusing on learning classroom procedures and rules. During the year if your child has difficulty following the rules, I will notify you. In addition, I hope that you will advise me if, at any time, your child has a problem—academic, social, or emotional.
